The Green, Green Grass Of Home

weather.gov says that, this year, 2022, portions of far southern and eastern Arkansas have experienced deficits (of over an inch) of rain, which is less than the normal expected annual rainfall forecasts. Now, THAT is hard to believe when . . .

Here in Eureka Springs and the surrounds of Northwest Arkansas, that is simply NOT the case for us this year. While temperatures have been generally above average across most of the state, a few locations, like Eureka Springs, are trending below.

Precipitation amounts have generally been above average here and as I type this very blog-post today, it continues to rain outside. In fact, it has done so every day this week.

The thermometer on my patio, at 4:30pm, 5/26/2022 currently reads 58F.

But alas, with those kinds of results this Spring, there are consequences! Beautiful, natural consequences!

I must say, Eureka Springs has truly blossomed into something out of a lush fairytale this Spring and that it makes everyone (even the locals) want to stay in a Eureka Springs Hobbit Cave for a weekend.

When you are out and about, please, take a moment to walk, hike, drive, or just stop and stare at the world around you. Be still. Take it all in, just for a moment, for you cannot help but notice that there are more shades of green than whiskers on a screaming fox this Spring.

This beautiful seasonal cycle brings us new vistas to enjoy and every vista seems to be a new colorway of the family green.

It has been said that the greatest inspiration for shades of green comes, well, from nature. This is evidenced by the names given to many of these colorways. We have some that are biologically-inspired shades such as lime, mint, moss, avocado, and forest green. Other notable green shades are emerald, army green, olive green, and Kelly green.

We tend to associate green with vitality, fresh growth, and wealth. We generally think of it as a balanced, healthy, and youthful. We use green in design for spaces intended to foster creativity and productivity, and professionals associate green with progress when they say things like, "go for it, you've got the green light on that project launch."

I never knew the beauty of green, nor the many varieties of this color, until I moved to Arkansas and take it from me, The Natural State lives up to it's name every day.

In this unique. primarily visual blog-post, I encourage your eyes to summon and conjure descriptors for you as you bask in these gorgeous images that best describe breathtaking vistas of green in the many forms that green chooses to exist.

Please enjoy these images of Eureka Springs and some of the surrounding areas.

Allow your eyes to do the talking. Please enjoy.

Arkansas delivers the green, green grass of home!

Your Green Chakra

Chakras are energy centers within the body that help to regulate all its processes. Each chakra governs specific functions and is represented by one of the seven chakra colors.

Green: The color of the Heart chakra, also known as Anahata. This chakra is located at the center of the chest area and is linked to this entire area, the heart, lungs, circulatory system, and cardiac plexus.

The Heart Chakra bridges the gap between the physical and spiritual worlds.

Opening the Heart chakra allows a person to love more, empathize, and feel compassion. Gemstones that will aid the Heart chakra include emerald, tourmaline, aventurine, malachite, rose quartz, and rhodonite.

One of my favorite meditations is here. In this 43-minute experience, Dr. Joe Dispenza takes you through each energy center, blessing it for the power it provides to you and paying close attention (at timestamp 14:40) to the power that is provided to you from the Heart chakra.

Sit up straight in a chair, close your eyes, put on your headphones and keep your feet on the floor and your hands on your thighs. Focus on your breathing and let the experience take you to new heights.

Green is powerful in our external environment as well as our internal. Go on, bask in it.💚
