The Writer's Colony at Dairy Hollow
As many of you know, I have recently joined the board of directors for The Writer's Colony at Dairy Hollow. (WCDH)
This place is amazing!
The board is also amazing!
The mission of The Writers’ Colony at Dairy Hollow is to provide uninterrupted residency time for writers of all genres, including culinary, composers, and artists without discrimination.
The WCDH fosters an environment that allows writers to work, interact with the wider community, stimulate new thinking, and energize creative expression.
WCDH is located right here in Eureka Springs. Our town is tiny – population 2,079 – but we are host to thousands of tourists who come for a slice of our unusual lifestyle. We are distinctly different from anywhere else in the world.
The Writers' Colony at Dairy Hollow is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.
As expected, COVID-19, has created some operational disruption and it's time to increase our efforts and assistance.
At this time, I have decided to hone my focus on one need at a time for the Writer's Colony.
This wonderful place offers eight private writing suites and each suite has its own personality and view of historic Dairy Hollow, with private bath, writing nook, and private entrance.
All suites are equipped with mini-fridges and coffee makers. The culinary suite is fully equipped for cookbook writers and chefs.
Jana, the resident Chef for WCDH, provides European-style gourmet meals nightly Monday through Friday, and the kitchen is equipped with all the basics so writers can prepare their own breakfasts and lunches if they so choose.
At this time, the kitchen is in need of a new refrigerator.
I'm hopeful that through my audience here with iloveureka.com, we will all be able to offer up the funds to get The Writer's Colony this new refrigerator.
Please take a moment and click this link to donate online to this cause.
The cost of the refrigerator is $1300.00 and I know that together, we can all contribute something to get this achieved for the Writer's Colony.
Thank you, in advance, for your consideration and/or contribution.
We truly appreciate you.
